Family Dream House

January 7th, 2008 · 5 Comments

I suppose it wouldn’t be right to kick this thing off with anything other than the Family Dream House. Here it is in all it’s glory. Planned restorations include removal of 70s era light fittings (I won’t burn your eyes with photographic evidence), addition of wrought iron screen door to match existing wrought iron work and removal of hand rail.

Family Dream House

It was built in the 40s or 50s as a returned servicemans residence, and has had 3 owners (ourselves included!). More history will follow.

    Hi Amy,

I think your site is FAB! I really like the roofline in the banner above…it looks suspiciously like my own! :) It’s a shame that you couldn’t have snapped it with Maxo el gato purched up there, snacking on a human sized possum…

Haha thanks! It is my New Year’s resolution to do something like this! I guess I can photoshop Max in, but I’m not sure about the human sized possum. Luckily none of those out this way!

    Hey chicka,
Wonderfully quirky website you’ve got going here. Horray to niche media and the emergence of user-generated publishing! Simon and I did the 1000 steps this week at Ferntree Gully (huff, huff, puff, puff, must get rid of the excess baggage that has settled around my midriff) and noticed this cute little art deco house at the base of the national park. Thought you might like to check it out for your blog.

Ola! Sorry I didn’t see this here :) Yes, hooray for niche! Not sure if a pretty art deco house is enough to lure me into doing that 1000 steps thing though, but well done to you!!!!! Will drop you an email re catchup soon, sorry we’ve been so slack. A xx
